What may be the future of the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Barbados? In a recent press conference the island’s Minister of Tourism appears to have given us a hint.
In January 2019 the state-of-the art Ross University School of Medicine was officially opened at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC).
This LESC-based institution is said to include 14 small group classrooms on campus, a digital library, faculty lounge, faculty meeting space, faculty work space which is shared space with a collaborative open floor plan.
However, while addressing a Local Investors Conference last month, Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds shared that there may be new plans on the horizon.
The Government is considering the idea of allowing the University School to take over the entire LESC building and construct a new convention centre with a larger capacity.
We will continue to monitor this story and share any updates with the ESN Community.
