🐟 Eat Local at Oistins Fish Fry
Some Barbados experiences don’t need a special event attached to them.
Friday night remains one of the best times to head south to Oistins Bay Garden, where locals and visitors gather for freshly prepared fish, macaroni pie, fish cakes, sweet potato, music, dancing and that unmistakable Oistins atmosphere.
Oistins is particularly lively on Friday and Saturday nights, when the food stalls, music and social scene come together.
Try flying fish, mahi-mahi, marlin or another fresh catch, add your favourite Bajan sides and spend some time supporting the independent food and craft vendors around the Bay Garden.

📚 Picnic & Pages 2026
Families looking for something fun — and free — should put Picnic & Pages on Saturday’s list.
Presented by Barbados’ National Library Service, this outdoor literary festival takes place at the National Botanical Gardens from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Expect story time, live entertainment, puppetry, children’s activities, Barbadian authors, family games, a free book corner and local food vendors. Admission is free.

🥾 Discover Another Side of Barbados at Oldbury Woods
Barbados is far more than beaches.
On Sunday, Hike Barbados heads to Oldbury Woods in St. Philip, offering the chance to explore some of the island’s countryside on foot.
Morning hiking groups depart at 6:00 a.m., with routes ranging from the easier Stop ‘n’ Stare group through to the more challenging Grin ‘n’ Bear option. A medium-paced afternoon hike starts at 3:30 p.m. Participation is free, although donations are welcomed.
